Our team thrives on innovation, collaboration, and honing our craft to its finest edge. We're looking for talented, passionate people to help shape the next chapter in our story.
Gunfire Games is seeking an Environment Artist (mid or senior+) for our upcoming titles. This role will work with Design and Art leadership to create incredible and breathtaking environments. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of texture creation and shape language, and extensive experience in world building. We want someone who will come in and hit the ground running: required to be a self-starter, must be highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Position may be performed remotely (within the United States) although ability to be on-site is preferred.
What you’ll do:
- Software Proficiency: Use commercial and proprietary software to create incredibly high-quality 3D art assets to fulfill the needs of the project’s functional, art and technical specifications.
- Understanding Game Design and Technical Requirements: Understand the requirements and constraints of game design, engine, and platform.
- Artistic Direction and Style: Take direction in style and technique to ensure work aligns seamlessly with the artistic style and vision of the project.
- Feedback Implementation: Implement feedback effectively and efficiently
- Communication: Keep constant communication between art teams, production and design.
- Task Estimation and Execution: Estimate your tasks with a high degree of accuracy, executing deliverables on time and at the highest quality.
Who you are:
- You have 3+ years of professional experience in game development, with the ability to contribute at a mid-level, or 5+ years for senior-level roles.
- You are proficient with tools like Unreal Engine, Photoshop, Zbrush, Substance, and 3ds Max, and use them to create visually compelling assets.
- You have strong modeling and texturing skills, consistently delivering high-quality work that meets the technical and artistic standards required.
- You possess a solid understanding of artistic principles, ensuring that your work is both aesthetically pleasing and technically sound.
- You have excellent organizational skills, adept at managing asset budgets and overseeing efficient workflows that stay on track.
- You excel at communication, articulating your process clearly and confidently, while actively seeking and responding to feedback.
- You are always eager to learn, open to mastering both commercial and proprietary software to stay ahead of the curve.
- You are based in the U.S. and legally able to work without employer sponsorship for an indefinite period.
Bonus XP:
- Shipped a AAA game
- Unreal Engine 5 experience
The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the hired applicant may be required to undertake additional tasks as may be reasonably expected to perform.
Pay range: $70,000 - $120,000. Title level (mid/senior) and base pay offered will be based on candidate’s skills, experience, and other professional considerations.
