Job Title: Director of E-Commerce
Location: New York- Hybrid- 3 times from the office
About
A baby and children's clothing brand is looking for a Director of E-Commerce to lead our direct-to-consumer (D2C) strategy, drive digital growth, and optimize customer journey.
Position Overview:
The Director of E-Commerce will be responsible for leading our online retail strategy, ensuring exceptional customer experience, and optimizing website performance. This role will oversee all digital initiatives, from launching a new website and implementing new tools to leveraging data analytics for performance tracking. The Director will also manage a team of two including a Customer Success Manager and an Ecommerce Manager. Will be tasked to drive engagement, conversion, and revenue growth. Will own the business forecasting and budget allocations, partnering with the CMO on P&L management and D2C marketing efficiency ratio (MER).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive D2C e-commerce strategy to drive growth and enhance customer experience.
- Oversee website optimization, ensuring a seamless user journey, improved conversion rates, and enhanced functionality.
- Identify and implement new tools and technologies to improve site performance and customer engagement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including marketing, merchandising, and tech, to align e-commerce initiatives with overall business objectives.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, innovations, and best practices to ensure the brand remains competitive in the digital space.
- Partner with the director of marketing to ensure a strategic retention plan and maintain LTV across D2C, supporting loyalty program on the website and any other retention tools.
- Manage CRM tools in partnership with the retention manager and marketing team.
Analytics & Performance Management:
- Establish key performance metrics (KPIs) and create weekly reports analyzing product and site performance.
- Utilize tools such as Google Analytics and Klaviyo to measure site traffic, customer behavior, conversion rates, and campaign effectiveness.
- Leverage data-driven insights to make strategic recommendations for optimizing sales, customer engagement, and retention.
- Monitor site performance and troubleshoot any technical or UX/UI issues that impact user experience.
Team Leadership & Customer Success:
- Manage and mentor a team of three, including customer success, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee customer success initiatives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize the post-purchase experience, including fulfillment, returns, and customer support.
- Being involved in CRM and retention strategy.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in e-commerce marketing and operations, with a strong understanding of online retailing.
- Proven expertise in ROI-driven e-commerce marketing and digital advertising models.
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics and Klaviyo.
- Must be proficient in Shopify plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Experience with site optimization tactics, UX/UI best practices, and e-commerce growth strategies.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS; familiarity with JavaScript and Flash is a plus.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and drive performance.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
