Overview
The Marketing professional will collaborate with various departments within INTA, including event planning, product development, and member services. This role is crucial for INTA as it directly contributes to the visibility and reputation of the organization, the engagement of its members, and the success of its events and products. The Marketing Director must be strategic, creative, and results-driven to succeed in this role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities:
1.Annual, Leadership, and TMAP Meetings: Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to promote INTA's Annual Meeting, Leadership Meeting, and TMAP. This includes creating compelling digital marketing content, identifying target audiences, and choosing appropriate marketing channels.
2.Reducing Unregistered Attendees: Design and execute strategies to minimize the number of unregistered attendees at INTA meetings. This could involve enhancing the value proposition of registration, improving the registration process, or implementing measures to restrict access to non-registered individuals.
3.Promotion of other INTA Products: Lead the marketing efforts for other INTA products such as certification programs, job bank, and online programs. This includes understanding the needs of the target audience, positioning the products effectively, and choosing the right promotional tactics.
Market Research:
Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs. Use this information to inform marketing strategies and product development.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals. Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and excellence.
Performance Metrics:
Establish key performance metrics for marketing activities. Regularly review and report on performance, and adjust strategies as needed to achieve goals.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1.Proven experience in a senior marketing role, preferably in a similar industry, either not-for-profit, legal or IP.
2.Good understanding of the trademark and intellectual property landscape.
3.Excellent leadership and team management skills.
4.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and apply it to marketing strategies.
5.Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role may require some travel for meetings and events.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
1.Effectiveness in communicating information regarding brands and IP issues, and the benefits of INTA to the membership, the media, the public, and government officials
2.Effectiveness of the INTA promotions in event registration, exhibitions and sponsorships, and other activities
3.Effectiveness of the INTA website in conveying the work and value of the Association
4.Achievement of specifically assigned goals and objectives
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1.Bachelor's Degree, plus related professional training; advanced degree a plus.
2.Minimum 10 years of directly related work experience
3.Progressively responsible work experience
4.Supervisory experience
5.Program and operational management experience
6.Skills or related knowledge:
7.Extensive experience in marketing techniques, planning, promotions, direct marketing, collateral production and research, preferably in a trade association, professional society or service-based industry.
8.Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communications skills
9.Familiarity with the Internet and website management and development
10.Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software.
11.Ability to work with staff, colleagues, and volunteers to complete projects and attain goals.
12.Ability to manage and work with outside consultants and other resources.
