Static Media is seeking an experienced and analytically driven Senior Audience Insights Data Analyst to support our audience insights and data strategy efforts. This role goes beyond reporting—it’s about leveraging data to drive innovation, optimize content strategies, and unlock new opportunities for audience engagement and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data analysis, leveraging AI for analysis, and textual data analytics, with a passion for applying these skills to the ever-evolving online publishing landscape.
We are looking for a strategic thinker who not only possesses deep analytical expertise but also a profound understanding of the evolving digital landscape, audience behavior, and search optimization. You will bridge the gap between complex data and creative content, driving innovation that resonates with our audience and maximizes business outcomes. You’ll utilize a variety of internal and external reporting tools to source, organize, as well as analyze data in order to provide actionable insights and reporting at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Take lead in applying data insights, processes, automations, AI and machine learning techniques, and strategies within the unique challenges of online publishing to grow our business.
- Gather and interpret data across a wide variety of traffic and revenue sources, then deliver strategic guidance to increase engagement with our existing readership as well as explore new avenues for audience growth.
- Help us transition our deliverables from being reactive to proactive, identifying unknown opportunities, emerging trends, and overlooked high-performers in our operation.
- Build and optimize internal reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualizations that empower stakeholders with actionable insights.
- Collaborate closely with growth, editorial, and product teams to enhance content strategy through data-backed decision-making.
- Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new data tools, methodologies, and AI applications to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, digestible reports and presentations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Continuously refine data collection, processing, and visualization methods to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and impact.
- Depending on the candidate, this role may include managing direct reports.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in a data analytics or data science role, preferably within digital media, publishing, or SEO-driven industries
- Passion for and proficiency in data, reporting, and business growth
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Creativity, self-sufficiency, and eagerness to learn
- Genuine interest in understanding audience content consumption habits
- Methodical and logical approach to analysis with accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience in an SEO or data-related role, or a Data Science, Computer Science, or related educational background
- Proven experience in textual data analysis, including natural language processing (NLP) and content performance modeling
- Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, advanced Excel) and experience creating dashboards for content-driven insights
- Proficiency in Python programming (ideally with experience using pandas and forecasting models such as Prophet)
- Comfortable with SQL, REST APIs, and web scraping
Location: Remote, work from USA or Canada
Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the stated salary range depends on a variety of factors including, for example, geographic location and level of experience.
