Schedule : Monday - Friday 8:00am – 5:00pmHybrid work schedule with expectation to work at the Chester, CT facility 3 days a week.Key Responsibilities
The Senior Graphic Designer functions as an internal creative service person to Whelen Engineering. This will include, but is not limited to concept development, layout design, PowerPoint presentation materials, product literature/brochures, trades show graphics/banners, Newsletters/Advisories and creative review & proofing, and other graphic related projects as assigned. He/she assures that execution of details is properly managed and completed on time and within budget. Senior Graphic Designer reports to The Creative Director.The Senior Graphic Designer is also responsible for support of web/digital services, social media and archiving all creative files/photos, along with maintaining the Brand Standards & Corporate Standards to ensure brand integrity and consistency.Essential FunctionsMeets with Market Manager/Creative Director/Team to discuss business objectives and the requirements of each projectDevelops concepts utilizing the appropriate media and style to meet objectivesParticipates in brainstorming and conceptualizing meetings as neededUtilizes creative thinking to produce new ideas and effective design solutions from concept to completionUnderstands and executes the basics of good layout and design principles as it relates to arrangement, space, size, type, style and related aestheticsAssists with photo shoots and image editing, as well as digital renderingsPresents finalized ideas and concepts to Market Manager/Creative Director/TeamEnsures consistency with brand standards where applicableAbility to be hands-on and produce physical mock-ups of artwork when necessaryProofread all projects to ensure accurate and high-quality workMaintains clean and orderly files with ability to develop press-ready artworkHas a sound understanding of digital asset management and archives accordinglyManages multiple projects, estimates time required to complete projects and notifies team of potential scheduling conflictsWorks with Junior Graphic designers, social media, and web designers to ensure the design is up to our standardsRequirementsBachelors degree in Graphic Design or related experience5-7 years of hands-on experience using computer-based design and digital media programs in a creative team environmentProficient with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesignProficient with PowerPoint, Word, and ExcelKnowledge of Adobe After Effects and Figma is a plusCreativity and problem-solving skills are a must, along with a willingness to learnConceptual thinker with solid design and execution capabilitiesGood interpersonal and communications skills, capable of working with all levels of personnelStrong organizational skills in order to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAble to focus with a keen attention to detailKnowledge of the Widen DAM system a plusKnowledge of development of Tik Tok videos a plus
