Walmart Creative Studio (WCS) is the in-house creative agency for Walmart. Overview:
The Associate Creative Director (Concept & Copy) Campaigns supports the Walmart Creative Studio from concept to execution for marketing, brand, and seasonal campaigns across multiple channels including paid media, social, digital, email, website, print, and in-store. The ideal candidate is a strategic, problem-solving, conceptual thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. They should be organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent creative judgment while pushing creative boundaries.
In this role, the ACD (Concept & Copy) partners with an ACD (Design & Art Direction) and works alongside the Creative Director to align marketing strategy with campaign execution. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and external agencies, primarily focusing on Service (Express Delivery & Subscriptions), Grocery, Health & Wellness, and Mobile App campaigns. Leadership and hands-on creative expertise are essential for managing external agency partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate to ideate, create, and execute 360-degree campaign creative across all channels, ensuring cohesive messaging and branding.
- Build strong relationships with key partners within a large, matrixed organization.
- Develop creative leadership and marketing pitch decks to align stakeholders and set up the team for success.
- Manage the growth and development of mid and junior level creatives.
- Be a self-directed, critical thinker who seeks continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement ways to work more efficiently and effectively.
- Manage projects to ensure they are on-brief, on-brand, and on schedule, addressing feedback proactively.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer behaviors to inform creative decisions.
- Maintain high standards of quality throughout the creative process.
- Oversee production shoots as needed.
- Copywrite assets and brand campaigns as required.
- Manage high-profile projects from inception to delivery, ensuring strategic alignment and timely completion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Creative Writing, Advertising, Fine Arts, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in editorial content management or related field, or 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating big campaign ideas across full funnel media including TV/Video, social, digital, experiential, and print, with conceptual and innovative thinking.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Slides, Slack, and Figma.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to motivate teams and external partners.
- Ability to articulate vision clearly and provide constructive feedback.
- Organized with diligent follow-through on tasks.
- Exceptional written, communication, and presentation skills.
