These individuals must have a solid understanding of digital design patterns, user interface best practices and be competent in the tools of the trade. Assigned to more straightforward projects and tasks.
In order to build an exceptional customer experience, individuals will be responsible for:Gathering and evaluating user requirements in collaboration with business partners and software engineers
Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
Designing graphic user interface elements
Creating process flows for digital solutions
Developing both low and high fidelity UI mockups and prototypes
Creating original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
Preparing and presenting rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
Identifying and troubleshooting UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
Adjusting designs based on user feedback
Adhering to style standards on fonts, colors and images
ResponsibilitiesCreate prototypes and design specifications by working collaboratively with business and IT partners
Work closely with other designers and developers to execute designs
Participate and lead sessions and workshops with business partners to gather requirements
Conduct user research
Basic QualificationsBachelor's in Information Technology, Graphic Design or other related degree
Preferred Qualifications
Competent in wireframing and prototyping tools and techniques and/or front end development technologies and techniques.
Solid understanding of user interface design patterns and/or coding practices.
Familiarity with user research methodologies including usability testing, card sorting, web analytics, field studies and heuristic analysis
Ability to collaborate effectively in large cross-functional project teams.
Ability to work within design systems and style guides.

Working Conditions
Hybrid - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
