What to expect as the HCTC Public Relations & Outreach Specialist: Each day, you will come prepared to provide valuable insights about the communities we serve and effectively collaborate with your colleagues to complete assigned tasks. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and execute PR strategies to promote brand awareness and positive public perception.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
- Create and distribute press releases, media kits, newsletters, and social media content.
- Plan, coordinate, and attend community events, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Develop outreach initiatives to engage key stakeholders, including local businesses, schools, and government agencies.
- Monitor media coverage and provide reports on PR campaign effectiveness.
- Act as a spokesperson for the organization when necessary.
- Collaborate with marketing and other departments to ensure cohesive messaging.
- Identify opportunities for media coverage, sponsorships, and partnerships.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in public relations, community outreach, or a related role.
- Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
- Experience in event planning and coordination.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of media relations.
Work Schedule: Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the ability to work evenings and weekends for public events and promotions.
