is seeking an experienced
Level Designer
to join our team for the development of Cyberpunk 2, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. Help us realize our vision for this vibrant open-world RPG and elevate narrative-driven experiences!
Your responsibilities will include pitching, planning, and implementing location blockouts, focusing on integrating narrative with engaging gameplay. You will work in the editor with existing meshes and tools, ensuring cohesive placement and connections within an open world, while creating memorable encounters that thrill players. Daily Responsibilities:
Design, prototype, iterate, and polish in-game levels, including geometry, enemy encounters, and gameplay elements, using proprietary tools and Unreal Engine 5.
Create spaces that balance gameplay flow with visual appeal to deliver memorable experiences.
Develop and adhere to predefined level metrics.
Collaborate closely with the Lead Level Designer and team members to ensure levels support gameplay and narrative.
Mentor less experienced team members under the guidance of your lead.
Propose improvements to gameplay systems and remain receptive to feedback.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Level Designer or similar role.
Proficiency with game editors, Unreal Engine, and/or 3D packages.
Deep knowledge of current titles in the Action/RPG genre and related art forms for idea development.
Strong understanding of level design fundamentals and their impact on player experience.
Proactive problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
Experience creating map layouts from sketches to functional levels in game engines.
Ability to utilize all elements of the game world—geometry, texturing, lighting, sound, VFX—to craft unique experiences.
Excellent communication skills and team collaboration experience.
Additional Information This position is based in Boston, US, with hybrid or full-time in-office work mode.
