Maine Legislature's Law and Legislative Reference Library
Range: $6,666.67 - $7,916.67 per month, commensurate with experience.
Position
The Maine Legislature’s Law and Legislative Reference Library, a nonpartisan staff office of the Legislative Council, is seeking applicants for the position of full-time SENIOR LAW LIBRARIAN.
Responsibilities
- This position performs complex and diverse legal and legislative research with a high degree of skill, accuracy, and independence.
- It also manages several of the library’s physical and digital collections with little to no supervision.
- Employees in this position work in our library in Augusta, are enthusiastic about public service and supporting the work of the Maine legislature, and conduct themselves in a highly confidential, professional, and nonpartisan manner.
- Overtime may be required during the legislative session.
Qualifications
- A successful candidate will possess a Master’s degree of library science.
- At least 3 years of experience as a research law librarian.
- Proven competence using online legal research platforms and print legal sources.
- Demonstrated commitment to public service.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
