https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9ihImu88OQ&t=9sSummary of Job Duties:The Senior Director of Broadcast Technologies is responsible for performing installation, modification, operation, and repair of electronic communications equipment in regard to Athletics electronic video presentation facility operations (in-stadium video) as well as live event operations (control room ops). This position will provide technical oversight of event coverage, facilitate live television for both broadcast and in-stadium presentations, and supervise the engineering staff members.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
At least four years of full-time experience in the technical operation, maintenance, and repair of broadcast equipment
Live sports broadcast event experience in technical broadcast control rooms, video board maintenance and operation
At least two years of full-time experience in a supervisory capacity
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) or College degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science
Experience with fiber-based transport of audio/video signals for broadcast television support and communications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of overall technical support to live events broadcast staff regarding operational aspects of routing systems for communications, broadcast camera setups, data-linking television graphics support, and general control room technical operational support
Knowledge of non-linear editing (NLE) systems, (AVID software specifically)
Knowledge of stadium/venue big screen video board
Knowledge of audio engineering
Operational understanding of Television routers, fiber links, Live Television Camera setup and operational use, broadcast communication wired and wireless setups
Operational understanding of broadcast TV Cameras and encoding equipment to capture for NLE usage
Operational understanding of maintaining Archives of broadcast media
Ability to troubleshoot to the component level and provide operator assistance in all aspects of broadcast
Ability to work in integrated Television Control Room environment managing control room setup and operational status for Live Television events
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to research and write RFP's for equipment and services related to in-venue or broadcasting technologies
