Making sure you fit the guidelines as an applicant for this role is essential, please read the below carefully.As VP of Marketing and reporting to the Chief Business Officer, you’ll lead all marketing activities, including digital and traditional campaigns, in-store promotions, and paid media strategies. This role is pivotal in enhancing brand awareness, expanding market share, and boosting customer engagement through cutting-edge, data-driven marketing efforts.
From the coffee bar to the board room, you’re someone who understands and has wielded the power of a brand. You’ve succeeded in your career by being able to flex back and forth between tactical and strategic. You’ll know how to leverage your extensive experience in multi-unit retail to strategize and implement marketing campaigns that resonate across diverse markets, ensuring consistent brand messaging and experience throughout all our communities.
You must be based in one of the following Philz markets - California (SF Bay Area or Los Angeles).
WHAT YOU’LL DOBrand Strategy & Marketing Execution
Own the brand strategy, competitive positioning and messaging as well as ensure design and brand consistency through all customer touchpoints.
Develop the marketing and execution across key channels including social, email and site while exploring other channels of distribution to help reach new audiences.
Guide the execution and evolution of our New Store and Go to Market strategies in conjunction with our Growth and Retail teams.
Partnerships & Team Collaboration
Identify partnerships and foster relationships with brands, influencers and press.
Work closely with the mobile and eCommerce product teams on positioning and launch strategies that result in acquisition, conversion and retention.
Leadership
Assess, develop and measure benchmarks for analytics and reporting. Define and manage budgets of all Marketing functions. Lead team to deliver measurable results within budget.
Shape, direct, support and manage the current marketing team to be both creative and results-oriented. Provide vision and goals to help foster their individual growth, motivation and contribution to the team and company.
Ability to set the strategy as Philz grows but hands on enough to roll up your sleeves and be tactical when needed.
Desire to inspire, manage, develop and grow an existing marketing team.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
15+ years of progressive experience in consumer products/food and beverage marketing, specifically in multi-unit.
10+ years of experience leading teams - Demonstrated ability to inspire and develop high-performing marketing teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
6+ years in relevant leadership roles in marketing - Demonstrating the ability to develop and execute strategic marketing plans and drive business growth.
Comprehensive marketing experience including but not limited to branding, product development, communications, PR, creative, and various business channels.
Proven ability to launch, manage, and optimize digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and online advertising.
Paid media experience - Expertise in planning, executing, and optimizing paid media campaigns across multiple platforms to maximize ROI.
Strong business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, derive insights, and make informed business decisions.
Experience in leading and positioning companies or brands for exponential growth.
Excellent executive communication skills with the ability to summarize and lead marketing initiatives.
Skilled in setting KPIs, metrics, benchmarks, and driving towards results-oriented decisions and initiatives.
Compensation & BenefitsA reasonable estimate of the starting annual base salary for this role is $225,000 to $250,000. Please note that the base salary will vary based on qualifications, previous experience, and work location.
